I was really excited to get this month going. The first week I had an event and it was held in Rhode Island. It was a fantastic dance competition and I was asked to be a judge! I was honored and excited, but also really nervous. I never judged a competition before but I knew what I was looking for and couldn’t wait! The other judges on the panel were also really helpful and nice! Before the competition, I taught a workshop which went amazingly well. The energy was great and it was a great way to get hyped up for the show. I was feeling really confident. All the training and practice I have been focusing on seemed to really be paying off and that was a great feeling. After class was a meet n greet and it was a pleasure meeting everyone! Then, the judging started and all the performances were just awesome! I was so entertained and didn’t want the show to end. It was really such an incredible day! I met so many kind people and new friends and so blessed i was invited to be apart of it all! A week later, I went to NYC to teach my own class. It’s was a while since I taught there so I was pretty pumped.
I had my friends assist me again and everything was so fun. So many laughs with everyone and class was a blast! Being able to laugh with my students is one of the best parts. As everyone knows, October is one of my favorite months because of Halloween! This means, candy, scary movies on TV all day, haunted houses, and crazy costumes/decorations! I Love it all! My Halloween party on the 28th was so fun. Those of you who went would agree! I had the time of my life chillin with you all and dancing for a few hours! Seeing everyones costumes was hilarious. You guys really went all out it made me so happy to see! After the party all my friends and family went out for dinner and had a bunch of laughs. Always a good time with those guys! Unfortunately there was a huge hurricane named Sandy who came for a visit. I know many GRANDerz were not able to make it out due to the bad weather but you guys were there in spirit! We were out of power for about 11 days, and tons of damage everywhere. I celebrated Halloween a few days after due to Sandy but I still dressed up! I can not even complain at all because many many people were hit so much harder. But we are thankful for our safety and praying for everyone else affected by hurricane Sandy! Stay safe!
